Initiative is something that comes to me naturally. I am a creative person and often think outside of the box.
Today, initiative has taken on a new twist. As I look at it from a responsibility angle, I see that if initiative is not tempered with discernment then being an "over achiever" may be the result.
Today I worked for 1 hour to support an initiative that is dear to my heart. I am one of the administrators in a googlegroup for Virtues Project Facilitators and I am trying to embed a google calendar so that we can all post our "initiatives".
After an hour, I realized that this approach would require much too much time and energy. I took the initiative to give up that particular aspect.
After making this decision, I felt free.
Note to self: making decisions which protect my own personal boundaries is quite freeing and opens my initiative up to other things.
